The 2008 Security Excellence Awards were the biggest and best yet - fittingly, for a tenth anniversary celebration!
Hosted by comedian Marcus Brigstocke who took potshots at all corners of the UK, and across the water to the USA - the 2008 SEAs celebrated the best of the best in the UK security industry.
The glittering black tie event also offered the chance for guests to don their gladdest of glad rags and enjoy some spectacular entertainment courtesy of Feeding the Fish, who creating vivid images via the medium of illuminated juggling. Seriously.
There was also entertainment from band Your Mum, and money was raised for charity Hear 4U thanks to the ‘funny money’ used at the charity casino gaming tables. Guests were able to enjoy Wii sports and slot car racing as well.
Im reliably informed that there was some alcohol available on the night and the food, which included beef carpaccio and confit of duck, was the best this writer has experienced at an awards bash. (That might seem like something of a qualified statement, but it's true, I swear. And also tasty.)
Overall, the 2008 Security Excellence Awards were an unmitigated success. There was absolutely no mitigation to be found. At all. Just check out the slideshow and see for yourself.
